The FIM has launched of the FIM Event License, a new license combined with a dedicated insurance product designed to protect everyone working in or present around FIM motorcycle events.

Mies, Switzerland (January 22, 2026) – The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) is proud to announce the launch of the FIM Event License, a new license combined with a dedicated insurance product designed to protect everyone working in or present around FIM motorcycle events – across all disciplines and competitions.
This new initiative represents a major step forward in strengthening safety, security, and welfare for the entire motorcycling community. While riders are already protected through the FIM Rider’s Insurance Program, the new Event License extends coverage to all other individuals who make motorcycle sport possible, including team members, mechanics, engineers, officials, volunteers, media representatives, service providers, parents, and partners.
“Beyond the riders, it’s the dedication and professionalism of countless people that make every FIM event a success,” said Jorge Viegas, “With this new license, we are ensuring that everyone who contributes to our sport can work and participate with the peace of mind that they are protected.”
The FIM Event License provides comprehensive individual insurance during FIM and Continental events, including World Championships, Prizes, and Training Camps. Coverage applies across all areas of activity (paddocks, pit lanes, refueling zones, liaison routes, and other competition-related spaces) as well as during travel to and from events.
The FIM Event License, available on a voluntary basis and not mandatory for participation, offers annual or per-event coverage with options for medical assistance, repatriation, and death/disability protection, with simple and secure subscription via the FIM Extranet.
