In this week’s Throwback Thursday, we dial back the clock to May of 1992 and arrive at Round 5 of the AMA Grand National Cross Country Series held at High Point Raceway. The photo shows Honda’s Scott Summers taking the checkered flag after three grueling hours of racing through the hills of Mt. Morris in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Summers won the race by three minutes over Scott Plessinger. Duane Conner was third. It marked the fourth win in five GNCC races for Summers, who would go on to win his third consecutive GNCC title later that season.
