In a competition bulletin on July 18, GNCC announced that the XC3 class will will be eliminated in 2026.

Here’s what it said:
Competition Bulletin 2025-12:
Elimination of the XC3 Class in 2026
TO: 2025 GNCC Participants
FROM: GNCC Racing
DATE: July 18, 2025
SUBJECT: COMPETITION BULLETIN 2025-12
Elimination of the XC3 Class in 2026
In order for teams and riders to plan accordingly, advance notice is hereby given that the XC3 Bike class will be eliminated in 2026. This decision is not a reflection of the skill level or performance of the current riders in the class, but a recognition of the actual trajectory of riders advancing to the pro ranks.
Accordingly, Section A.1 of the 2025 GNCC Pro Competition Rules is amended as follows:
Effective 2026: The XC3 Bike class will be eliminated.

On the same day, GNCC announced that concussion tests will be required for Pro class riders.
Here’s more from GNCC:
In recognition of the potential harm from undiagnosed neurocognitive injuries, riders competing in the Pro classes will be required to complete the online ImPACT neurocognitive concussion test and upload proof of completion prior to competing in any further events.
GNCC Racing is fortunate to have Dr. Marc Tanner’s Safety On-Site Medical Service (SOS) at the GNCC events to manage this concussion protocol and encourages all riders over the age of 12 at all levels of competition to complete the test.
Accordingly, Section A.8 of the 2025 GNCC Pro Competition Rules is amended as follows:
1. Concussion Test: Effective immediately, in order to compete in the XC1, XC2, WXC and 4×4 Pro classes riders must have proof of completion of the ImPACT Concussion Management Test within two years of the date of competition. Any racer who sustains a known concussion or loss of consciousness during an event or otherwise shall be suspended from further competition until the racer can provide proof of compliance with the ImPACT Concussion Management program as determined by the GNCC Medical Director. Upload proof of completion to the GNCC Pre-Registration Rider Profile.
