Bartosz Zmarzlik, Poland’s five-time Speedway GP World Champion, celebrated a significant milestone in his illustrious career by achieving his 100th FIM Speedway Grand Prix appearance, along with a record-extending 28th SGP victory.

Zmarzlik clinched victory at the FIM Speedway GP of the Czech Republic, held at the famous Marketa Stadium in Prague on May 31. He won the final, finishing ahead of Swedish rider Fredrik Lindgren, who took second place, Denmark’s Leon Madsen in third and Australia’s Jack Holder in fourth.
Zmarzlik also regained the lead in the Speedway GP World Championship from pre-meeting leader Brady Kurtz, moving up to 53 points, while the Aussie stands at 45 after crashing out on the final turn of his last-chance qualifier following a close clash with Madsen.
Zmarzlik’s third victory in Prague—adding to his back-to-back wins in the 2020 Marketa doubleheader—crowned an astonishing century of Speedway GP appearances for one of the sport’s all-time greats.
This comes in the year he is pursuing a record-tying sixth Speedway GP World Championship as he aims to become the first rider in history to win four in a row.
The 30-year-old Zmarzlik has reached 64 finals in his career, winning 28 of them, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. CN
