In this week’s Throwback, we wind back the clock 25 years to the year 2000 and that year’s opening round of the AMA Chevy Trucks Motocross Championships at Glen Helen Raceway Park in San Bernardino, California.

This image captured the start of one of the premier 250 class motos. Heading up the field is Sebastien Tortelli (21) on the factory Honda. Following are Ricky Carmichael (4) on the Team Chevy Trucks Kawasaki, defending series champ Greg Albertyn (1) on the factory Suzuki, Jeremy McGrath (2) aboard his Mazda/Chaparral Yamaha, factory Yamaha’s David Vuillemin (934) and the rest of the 40-rider field. Carmichael went 1-1 to win the national over Tortelli and Vuillemin. This weekend the 2025 edition of the Pro Motocross Championship kicks off 60 miles down the road at Fox Raceway in Pala, California.
