HyperCycle Suzuki Rider Battled Early Then Built a Commanding Lead

In this week’s Throwback, we dial the clock back 27 years to the 1998 AMA 750 Supersport race at Road America.
That day it was defending champ Jason Pridmore’s race. He dominated on the scenic four-mile Wisconsin road course, winning with a 4.039-second margin of victory over Richie Alexander. This photo shows Pridmore leading on his No. 1 HyperCycle Suzuki ahead of Steve Rapp (No. 15), Alexander and Jamie Bowman (No. 21). Rapp would round out the podium finishers in third. Alexander would go on to win the title that season. This weekend MotoAmerica will be back at Road America, a track that has hosted national motorcycle road races dating back to 1980.
