2025 Yamaha Tracer 9 Specifications

Cycle News Staff | November 7, 2024

For 2025, Yamaha is replacing the previous top-specification TRACER 9 GT+ with the standard specification TRACER 9 to “provide a simpler and more attainable riding experience along with a range of new features and key enhancements to ensure a level of performance and capability nothing else in its price category can touch,” says Yamaha. “Yamaha’s benchmark-setting 2025 TRACER 9 brings true Sport Touring capability to the masses with smooth CP3 triple-cylinder power, a lightweight, agile chassis, a comprehensive suite of rider aids and all-day comfort for the long haul.”

Customizable YRC Ride Modes

The new TRACER 9 features Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) settings allowing the selection of engine power characteristics and electronic intervention levels to suit conditions or rider preference. For quick, easy selections, three integrated riding modes are programmed with factory settings to suit different situations: SPORT, STREET and RAIN.  Additionally, riders can now create two custom programs with tailored settings to suit exact preferences.

New Yamaha Variable Speed Limiter

New Yamaha Variable Speed Limiter (YVSL) gives the rider the ability to set a top-speed limit for the motorcycle to ensure a rider-selected speed is not unintentionally exceeded. The system can be activated, adjusted, and deactivated via the cruise control buttons, and can also be deactivated by fully closing the throttle.

Revised Frame & Subframe

The TRACER 9’s advanced controlled fill (CF) aluminum Deltabox frame is revised and, along with a longer and lighter subframe, contributes to an enhanced feeling of stability and increased rider/passenger comfort.

New Seven-Inch TFT Display

A new seven-inch high-brightness TFT instrument display has a slimmer housing and three selectable display themes available to suit different riding situations and rider preferences. There is also a convenient new smartphone box for storage along with a USB-C socket for charging phones or powering other electronic devices.

New Switchgear & Turn Signal Functions

Yamaha’s next-generation switchgear features a new joystick design with button shape and feel extensively refined to provide intuitive operation in a compact, easy-to-use solution. New turn signal functions further enhance the riding experience. A soft click of the indicator switch will flash the turn signals three times, while a full click will flash continuously. Turn signals also self-cancel after 15 seconds and once the bike has travelled for more than 500 feet. The new 2025 TRACER 9 also comes with standard cruise control.

Improved Ergonomics

Ergonomic enhancements include a larger, manually adjustable windscreen, revised handlebar angle, a more comfortable seat design and an updated seating position for better long-distance comfort.
