Gary Nixon took victory over Roger Reiman and Fred Nix
In this week’s Throwback we dial back the clock 57 years to September of 1967 and the Carlsbad (Calif) Road Race National, the penultimate round of that year’s AMA Grand National Championship. Triumph racer Gary Nixon (No. 9) won the race over Harley-Davidson riders Roger Reiman (No. 55) and Fred Nix (No. 95). Standing behind Nixon and Reiman is race promoter J.C. Agajanian. Nixon was on his way to winning the 1967 national championship.
