2024 3Bros 6 Hours of Glen Helen Results
| March 12, 2024
A flurry of rainstorms in recent weeks left Glen Helen Raceway primed for a good race, and the annual 3Bros 6 Hours of Glen Helen was ready for the taking. Defending series champs Tyler Nicholson and RJ Warda picked up where they left off last season, taking the overall win after a myriad of laps around the famed raceway.

Racers were treated to a nine-plus mile course consisting of fast ridge roads, singletrack and rocky creeks, high-speed sand washes, and the iconic motocross tracks around the Glen Helen facility. At the drop of the gate, the Open Pro and Expert riders rushed into the Talladega first turn, with Ryan Surratt on the 1x (Zach Wiley) KTM leading the way. Through the first few corners, riders mixed it up with Trevor Hunter on the DirtBikeTest.com KX450X, settling into second ahead of the KTM of Tyler Nicholson heading into the off-road. Wet dirt led to all-out racing in the opening minutes of the race, with the leaders jockeying for position on the well-thought-out course laid out by the SRA GP crew.
A mistake on the first lap by Hunter resulted in Surratt and Nicholson setting the pace as the clear front-runners. Through the first laps, Surratt held a comfortable gap. As rider swaps took place, Nicholson and co. proved to be the team to beat, gaining the lead after the first hour and holding it until the end, which was a steady effort. Surratt and teammates Zach Wiley and Justin Carnes finished second in overall and second in Open Pro at the checkered flag.
The father-son duo of Mark and Jacob Tilley topped the Family class and climbed up to third overall in the process. The top Expert team finished fourth overall, with Carson Tryon, Travis LaValley and Ian Burke splitting the duties en route to the 125-250cc Expert victory. Rounding out the top five overall was the Barry Johnson team, crossing the checkers a few minutes behind Tryon.
In the Ironman ranks, former WORCS and National Hare & Hound Champion Gary Sutherlin proved to be the class of the field among the solo riders. Sutherlin never relinquished the lead and finished 22 minutes ahead of Marshall Stewart, with Jon Rice another five minutes behind in third. Sutherlin finished an impressive seventh overall and was just two laps shy of the overall winners.
Other notable finishers include Gunner Luce piloting a KTM 65 to the Mini 65cc finish first, Jeron Kunzweiler and Piper Coons winning the 85cc class, and Ayden Fritsch topping the Mini Ironman class. Trevor Watson took top honors in the 30+ Expert class, while Todd Davis and team claimed the 40+ Expert victory. CN
