2022 Dubya World Vets Championship Results
Cycle News Staff | November 8, 2022
More than 1000 racers took to the hills of the Glen Helen Raceway for the 2022 Dubya World Vet Motocross Championship, November 5-6. Over 20 countries were represented throughout the weekend with Team Guam ultimately topping the World Cup results over Team Canada and Team USA.
This event hosts a unique three-moto format for the non-pros, while the pro racers ran the typical two-moto format. The 30+ and 40+ Pro classes were the highlight of the weekend, as names on the entry lists look like the main event from a typical ’90s Supercross.
Sean Lipanovich came out on top in the 30+ class. His holeshot in moto one allowed him to run away with the win before backing it up with a second in moto two. Former pro Sean Collier proved to be tough, as he traded wins with Lipanovich and took the victory in the second moto. Collier’s 3-1 earned him second overall. Ryan Morais played it consistent and went 2-3 for third overall.
Mike Brown was hard to beat throughout the weekend. The former 125cc outdoor champ took dominant moto wins in the 40+ Pro class, while Kris Keefer and Jeremy McGrath rounded out the podium in the class. Brown also claimed a victory in the 30+ 125 Pro class but ultimately finished second overall.
Other notables from the weekend include Kurt Nicoll winning the 50-plus Pros, Josh Mosiman topping the 25-plus, Collier taking the 30-plus 125cc overall, and Doug Dubach taking the 50-plus 125cc Pro victory.
