The AMA Arenacross Championship visited Albany, New York, on November 26, for round two of the 2023 championship. Honda’s Izaih Clark pieced together two consistent motos to take the overall victory.
Clark was untouchable in the first of two motos. A holeshot and the fastest time of the race allowed the Honda rider to run away with the opening-race win. Race two required a bit more effort though, as Clark started way back in 10th position. He fought hard during the 14-lap main and passed into second with just two laps to go, which was enough to give him the night’s overall win.
Defending champ Kyle Peters took second overall. The number-one Honda started up front in main one but dropped back to 10th. From there, he fought hard to get up to fourth. Another battle in race two saw Peters run as far up as second but would finish the race in third place. A 4-3 gave Peters second overall while still maintaining the championship lead.
Luke Neese rounded out the podium with 2-5 finishes, making it a Honda sweep from first to fourth. But it was Phoenix Honda’s Caden Braswell who topped the final race of the night. The rookie led every lap of main two to take his first career race win. He secured fourth overall with 7-1 finishes. CN
