Rider Reports:

Blake Baggett brought the speed as he put down a heater during the final practice session, earning the fastest qualifying time of the day. He kept the momentum going during his heat race as he used the power of his FMF Racing exhaust to lead the field down the start straight and round the first turn in second place. He found himself in a battle for second with Eli Tomac, and the two traded places before Blake slid back to third. He wasn’t done yet, though, and he made a last-lap pass on Martin Davalos to take the checkered flag in second place.

In the main event, Blake didn’t flinch as he timed the gate perfectly to round the first turn inside the top three. He held down third place until he slid back to fourth place. Then, he passed Ken Roczen to retake third place at the midpoint of the race. Blake then found himself under attack again from Eli Tomac in the last few laps of the race. Both exchanged positions before Eli Tomac overtook third place, but Blake still crossed the finish line in fourth.

“Today’s race was much better. My speed was there all day and I felt good battling inside the top three in both the heat and the main. We made a few adjustments on the bike and it has helped tremendously. We will keep this momentum going into Sunday’s race. ” – Blake Baggett

After not making the main through his heat race, Benny Bloss came back strong in the LCQ where a good start allowed him to battle inside the top five. He sliced his way to first place, taking the win and earning a spot in the main event. A mid-pack start in the main event had Benny working hard early on. He used his WP Factory Services suspension to blitz through the whoops and help him work his way into the top 10. He hit his marks, taking the checkered flag in 10th place.

The team now has a few days to prepare before the next race at Rice-Eccles stadium and round 15 of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross Series.
