Montreal Supercross Results 2019
Cycle News Staff | September 15, 2019
The Montreal Supercross was once one of the largest indoor races in the world and included racing for buggies and ATV’s. The event ceased operation for a few years and was brought back to life last year with Malcolm Stewart taking the win. For 2019, Stewart was back for his first race since breaking his femur at the Glendale, Arizona Supercross in January. Dean Wilson and Justin Brayton were the other regular Monster Energy AMA Supercross riders racing along with most of the riders that regularly compete in the Canadian Rockstar Energy Triple Crown Series.
The Montreal race uses a three moto format and Rockstar Husqvarna’s Wilson came out on top of the overall results with 1-3-1 moto scores. Stewart finished second with 2-1-5 finishes on his Smartop/MotoConcepts/Bullfrog Spas Honda. His chance for the overall was ruined by a first turn crash in the final moto. Brayton finished third overall with 3-4-2 moto scores on his Smartop/MotoConcepts/Bullfrog Spas Honda.
Phil Nicoletti was the top finisher among the riders competing for the Rockstar Energy Triple Crown Series title with strong 4-2-3 finishes on his Yamaha. He was just ahead of his main title rival Cole Thompson on a KTM. Nicoletti leads Thompson in series, which combines the points for the Canadian MX Nationals, Canadian Arenacross and Canadian Supercross races. The winner will earn a $100,000.
