Benny Bloss had the line around the Ironman track, as he laid down a heater to post the second fastest time in morning qualifying. His first moto wouldn’t go to plan, however, as he went down on the first lap. The Dunlop tires supported rider put his head down and put on a charge from deep in the field to inside of the top 10, taking the checkered flag in 8th place. A better start in moto two allowed Benny to battle inside the top 10 the full moto, earning another 8th place finish. Even with missing the first part of the season, Benny’s solid rides earned him 12th overall in the championship points.
“I had fun this weekend,” said Bloss. “This is one of my favorite tracks of the year and I showed I have the speed. I had a solid day, finishing the season off strong with an 8th overall.”
Justin Bogle first moto wouldn’t go as planned. After starting just outside the top ten, Justin would catch a boulder in a deep rut bending the front brake disk, With the front wheel locking up, he was forced to make a pit stop for a new front wheel and ending his chance at a solid finish. The 51Fifty Energy Drink supported rider didn’t give up, though, and he blasted out of the gate in moto two to find himself inside the top 10. Justin kept the pace, fighting to earn 9th at the checkered flag. Despite his first moto result, he took 14th overall for the day and 9th in the overall championship standings.
“I was giving it my all out there today,” said Bogle. “Even with my issue in the first moto, I feel I rode well today, and I am happy to finish the season top ten in points. Thanks go out to the whole team for sticking by me this season and believing in me.”
Despite missing the last few rounds, Blake Baggett’s strong rides in the season would earn him 10th overall in the final championship points.
