After an exciting round 7 in Stillwater, the Pro class championship battle continues. In addition to a $5,000 pro purse, Factory Beta’s Max Gerston sits a mere 20 points down from current first place standings rider SRT Husqvarna backed Trystan Hart. With Trystan out with an injury and not expected to race, it leaves the championship battle to the current second and third place riders, Factory Beta’s Max Gerston and RPM KTM rider Dante Oliveira. Oliveira took the East meets West win last weekend closing the points gap to now only four points down from Gerston in third.

“I feel good going in to the last round of the year, and I’m hoping to carry the momentum from last weekend into Donner and make it happen for the championship,” said Oliveria. Gerston also stated after the last round that he “is hoping his finger will heal up a bit more and be ready for Donner”. Pro 250 rider, Jeremy Wilton has a comfortable lead of 43 points over second place rider Dillon Sheppard and Dan Caparelli sits in third.

The SLAB will provide for some very challenging and fun rock climbing.

Women’s A rider Sharon Mowell has the championship wrapped up going in to the last round with a 46 point lead over McKenna Cheff in second place. It will be an exciting way to end the year for the Northern Californian native Mowell sisters, as Heather Mowell is set to wrap up the championship in the womens B class with an 84 point lead over second place rider Ava Silvestri. Although the Womens A class championship is wrapped up, there will be a $750 purse up for grabs, so it is safe to say there will be a fight for the win at the last round as there are still bragging rights on the line.

Big Wheel riders Seven Diaz and Zachery Kerling are set to have a last round championship battle as well. Kerling sits only 11 points behind Diaz the current point leader. With both riders finishing no worse than top three in class all year, it will be an exciting race, especially with the championship on the line.

In addition to rock climbing, Donner ski resort provides for tight single track through the woods.
