In Moto2, Miguel Oliveira took a first win of the year for the Red Bull KTM team, coming through from 11th on the grid to lead one of the closest and most exciting races ever seen in the middle class.

Early leader and pole starter Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Kalex) crashed out; leaving the Portuguese rider to a bitter battle with Italian Lorenzo Baldassarri (HP40 Kalex), resolved only on the final lap, when Baldassarri suffered a near crash.
Reigning Moto3 champion Joan Mir (EG VDS Kalex) was a close third, the rookie taking the last podium spot from title leader and triple winner Pecco Bagnaia (SKY VR46 Kalex) on the final lap.
American Joe Roberts score his first points of the year, placing 14th ahead of his NTS team-mate Steven Odendaal.

The usual huge Moto3 brawl was avoided when pole starter Jorge Martin (Del Conca Honda) led a three-bike breakaway, with his team-mate Fabio di Giannantonio and Redox KTM rider Marco Bezzecchi, current title leader, following on.
Martin, for whom this was a 13th pole, has been knocked off from the front group in the last two races. This time he managed to stay just out of reach, with Bezzecchi and Di Giannantonio second and third, the top three covered by 0.043 of a second.
Ten seconds away, Gabriel Rodrigo (RBA KTM) led the usual huge group of riders over the line.
