New Motoclimb Super Series Announced for 2018

Cycle News Staff | May 16, 2018

Motorcycle hillclimbing in the United States has a new Championship title to fight for this year, with the newly formed Motoclimb Super Series. Four promoters of four very respected hillclimb events across the country have partnered their outlaw races together to form this century-old sport’s only coast-to-coast series.

The following four events will make up the series:

  • Brick Mine on July 8th in Walhalla, North Dakota.
  • The East/West Shootout on July 15th in Bay City, Wisconsin.
  • Poags Hole on August 19th in Dansville, New York.
  • IRC Carnegie Classic on October 6-7th in Tracy, CA.
The Motoclimb Super Series will include a 450cc class and an Open, 600cc+ class.

The Championship title will be based off two classes, X Climb/Verticross (450cc bracket racing) and Open (600cc+) and will ultimately determine who the best motoclimb athlete in the country is. For decades, the sport has been separated by several Pro series on different sides of the United States, so the Motoclimb Super Series will bring the top riders of both coasts together to face off at some of the best hills in the country.
