Daytona Beach, FL (March 20, 2018) – American Flat Track and Oakley have reached an agreement extending their existing partnership for the 2018 season, naming the California-based company the Official Eyewear of American Flat Track.
As part of the continued partnership, Oakley, a sports brand that is present in virtually every extreme sporting discipline, will showcase the brand’s products and technologies through different touch points at the races, as well as for fans watching at home through FansChoice.tv and other live-broadcast integrations.
“Oakley is synonymous with professional sports, and has a rich heritage within the motorcycle industry,” said Michael Lock, CEO of American Flat Track. “American Flat Track is the fastest-growing series in motorcycling and we are delighted to grow and extend our partnership with Oakley.’
Oakley has long used athletic endorsements to authenticate its products and tell its brand story, and the eyewear maker will sponsor in 2018 defending AFT Twins riders Jared Mees, Indian Motorcycle teammate Bryan Smith, the entire Harley-Davidson factory team of Brandon Robinson, Sammy Halbert and Jarod Vanderkooi, and AFT Singles title-contenders Kolby Carlile and Shayna Texter in 2018. The riders will be wearing Oakley goggles equipped with leading technologies to provide impact protection, enhanced peripheral view and comfort.
“With Oakley deeply rooted in two-wheel motorsports, and with a legacy that dates back to the early ’70s, it’s fitting that we align with one of the most authentic forms of motorcycle racing,” said Anthony Paggio, Oakley’s Global Director of Sports Marketing. “We are honored that we can give back and support the American Flat Track series.”
The partnership will be activated at all American Flat Track events through customized, on-site fan experiences and product demos. Officials and staff of the series will also utilize the high-definition protective gear of the Oakley product line during the 2018 season by wearing the latest optic technology.
