ALTON, Va. (May 16, 2015) –  JD Beach broke through to score his first ever MotoAmerica Supersport pole Saturday at Virginia International Raceway. Beach raced his Yamalube/Y.E.S./Graves Yamaha to a time of 1:26.691 to clinch the top spot for this weekend’s races. Beach and Herrin were the only riders to get into the 1:26-bracket. Herrin set his best time yesterday.

“It’s pretty cool because it’s my first pole ever,” Beach said of his Supersport run. “Honestly, I don’t really care about the pole, I only care about who crosses the line first at the race. The bike is amazing and the team is working really hard, so it’s awesome to be able to click off those laps and not following somebody and just feeling good. For me as a dirt tracker it doesn’t matter that much if I qualify first or fourth, I’m here to race.”

Josh Herrin (Wheels in Motion/Motosport.com/Meen Motorsports Yamaha) and Bobby Fong (Latus Motors Racing Triumph) round out the front-row starters.

Series leader Garrett Gerloff sat out qualifying on Saturday to lessen the stress on his broken left pinky finger. He is expected to start in the race later today. Gerloff will start from the outside of row two alongside David Anthony and Tomas Puerta.

Series leader Joe Roberts won the pole in Superstock 600 aboard his Wheels in Motion/Motosport.com/Meen Motorsports Yamaha. Richie Escalante and Travis Wyman also made row one.
