Nelson out of Supercross 2015

Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Red Bull/KTM rider Jessy Nelson has announced he will not compete in the remaining 2015 Supercross West Region rounds following a high-speed crash at Glen Helen.

Nelson went down while testing for the Outdoor Nationals and although he didn’t sustain any broken bones, he decided it would be in the best interests of the team to take the rest of the season off so he can heal up 100 percent ahead of the Outdoor season.

“It’s definitely tough to make that call, especially when you are sitting second in points,” Jessy said of his decision. “I have good people around me and we all think the smart move is to take the time I need and line back up when I’m completely ready. I’m already looking forward to Hangtown.”

Nelson’s decision to pull out of the rest of the 250 West Supercross championship means Cooper Webb now sits 32 points clear of arch-rival Tyler Bowers.
