After a four-year absence Davide Tardozzi is returning to Ducati Corse as the new MotoGP team manager, the long time World Superbike team manager going back to his Ducati roots after most recently running BMW’s World Superbike program.
With BMW’s departure from racing and the team manager vacancy at Ducati open, many speculated that Tardozzi was the most likely candidate. And the job is his as he will replace Vitto Guareschi, who has left Ducati to run Valentino Rossi’s new Moto3 team.
Tardozzi will report to Paolo Ciabatti, the pair having worked together previously with much success in World Superbike.
Tardozzi, a former World Superbike racer himself, has been a part of nine World Championships during his time as Ducati’s World Superbike team manager, working with the likes of Carl Fogarty, Troy Bayliss, Troy Corser, Neil Hodgson, and James Toseland.
He begins his new role at the first MotoGP test at Sepang on February 4.
