Formula USA announced today another premier feature at three select events in the Formula USA National Dirt Track Series presented by Drag Specialties, the Super Singles & Twins Challenge.

The recently announced Red Mile event in Lexington, Kentucky will kickstart the 1stlegal-backed series within a series, where entrants will compete for $20,000 in purse money at each event, including Lexington on July 27th; Sacramento, California, on Sept. 14 and Del Mar, California, on October 6.

The 1stlegal Super Single & Twins Challenge will see big-bore single cylinder motorcycles going heads-up against the almighty twin-cylinder motorcycles like the legendary 750cc Harley-Davidson XRs and the TL1000 Suzukis. Ten riders will qualify from heat races to the 12-lap shootout that will showcase them racing side by side at an average speed of over 100 mph on the big one-mile dirt track ovals.

Expert riders like Terry Poovey, Rich King, J.R. Schnabel and Larry Pegram are expected to compete in both the Pro Singles National Championship and the 1stlegal Super Singles & Twins Challenge.

“Dirt Track is the most exciting racing in the world,” 1stlegal’s Roy Plattel said. “Being able to participate in the Pro Singles racing by sponsoring the current National Champion and continue the legendary roots of the sport by participating in the Super Singles & Twins Challenge is an honor. It is good for business, good for the sport and great for the fans. I am very proud to be part of the Formula USA Series by sponsoring the Super Singles & Twins Challenge at these premiere facilities.”

Mike Kidd, Vice President of Clear Channel Motor Sports added that bringing the 1stlegal Super Singles & Twins Challenge to the Red Mile will certainly enhance the event.

Then to continue the tradition of the twins at both Sacramento and Del Mar will cap off a great season,” Kidd said.
