Yamaha’s YZ426F-mounted Ty Davis raced to the overall at round two of the AMA National Hare & Hound Series in Lucerne Valley, California, yesterday. Finishing behind Davis was a sextet of Kawasaki riders including runner-up and series defending champion Brian Brown, who ran close to Davis much of the day.

Brown’s KX500 Team Green teammate and round one winner, Destry Abbott was also in the mix, finishing third ahead of Vet class winner Dan Richardson, also KX500-mounted. Dave Ondas, who sat out round one due to a broken hand rounded out the top five.

Finishing sixth, and garnering 250cc class honors for the second time in as many tries was Shane Esposito. KX125-mounted Kurt Caselli was as repeat class winner as well, posting an impressive seventh overall finish.

Montclair Yamaha’s Paul Krause and David Pearson crossed the finish line in eighth and ninth, while Andy Grider rounded out the top ten.

After two rounds, Abbott and Davis are tied in points with 51, both riders with a win and a third place finish to their names. Brown, who has posted two runner-up finishes, is ever so close with 50 points.
