World’s Fastest Wheelie Set In Great Britain!

Holland’s Egbert van Popta has broken the record for the fastest wheelie over one kilometer (0.65 miles) at the Straightliners Motorcycle Wheelie World Championship, held at the Elvington Airfield in Yorkshire, England, at the weekend.

van Popta set the new mark at a staggering 213.039mph to take the victory over last year’s victor, Liverpool’s Gary Rothwell, who stopped the speed traps at 206.049mph on the rear wheel. The U.S. was also well represented, with Minneapolis’ own Cecil Bubba Myers completing the podium in third with a 197mph pass.
