Maximo Quiles is confirmed for Moto3 next year with his current team, CFMOTO Aspar, after completing two years in Moto2.

This is a press release from CFMOTO Aspar Team…
The Moto3 championship leader will face the second half of the season with a 104-point advantage and his move up to the Moto2 category in 2027 already secured.
Máximo Quiles and the CFMOTO Aspar Team will continue dreaming together in Moto2 in 2027. The Moto3 leader will make the jump at the end of this season after completing two years in the lightweight class. To date, the Spaniard has competed in 29 Moto3 races, achieving 9 victories and 19 podium finishes. This year, he also leads the standings with 231 points, 104 more than his closest rival and just two shy of the absolute Moto3 record at this stage of the season, held by Luis Salom (233 points in 2013).

Quiles’ move to Moto2 is yet another example of the CFMOTO Aspar Team’s work at the grassroots level. The rider from Murcia was champion of the European Talent Cup (now the Moto4 European Cup) with Jorge Martínez “Aspar’s” junior team in 2023 and in 2025 made the leap to the World Championship with the team before he had even turned 17. Now, he hopes to move up to Moto2 with the Moto3 title in his record, following in the footsteps of Albert Arenas (2020), Izan Guevara (2022) and David Alonso (2024).
Jorge Martínez “Aspar”: “We’re delighted to be able to compete with Máximo Quiles in Moto2. This year he’s been the rider to beat in Moto3 and we’re going to keep working hard over the coming months to finish the season as champions before making the leap to the intermediate category. We believe he is ready for all the challenges that lie ahead and we know that together we can give our very best. Furthermore, with Máximo’s move to Moto2 – just as we did with Arenas, Guevara and Alonso – we are continuing to consolidate our rider development model from grassroots level right through to the World Championship, one of the hallmarks of the CFMOTO Aspar Team.”
The following is an interview provided by the CFMOTO Aspar Team…
How are you feeling?
Máximo Quiles: I’m really motivated and can’t wait to try out the Moto2 bike – I’m really looking forward to it. I think it’s going to be a bike that really suits my style and is great fun. I’m tall and have long arms, so I think this type of bike will suit me well.
Your move up to Moto2 next year has been confirmed at the very peak of your form: 10 podium finishes in eleven races and leading the Moto3 standings by over a hundred points. How would you sum up this first part of the season?
Máximo Quiles: It’s been a very good first half of the year, to be honest. We’re all very happy with these results. The whole team’s work has been, and continues to be, excellent, and things have gone very well for me too. What I was clear about was that our aim was to be leaders of the category. At the moment there’s quite a points gap, but I hadn’t thought about exactly how many – it didn’t matter to me whether it was one, fifty or a hundred points. The important thing is to keep the same mindset.

What do you think has been the key to performing so well every weekend?
Máximo Quiles: I think it’s the work with the team: taking it session by session, meeting Friday’s target, then going for Saturday, and finally for the race. I always try to give my all every day. What’s more, the mistakes I’ve made in the past have also taught me a lot.
How have you improved compared to your rookie season?
Máximo Quiles: I’m a more well-rounded rider. I have more experience, and I think I make smarter decisions. Last year I was really eager – that’s normal when you’re a rookie in the World Championship. Now I watch the races and say, ‘Look, I didn’t need to overtake there.’ That eagerness can sometimes get the better of you and lead to mistakes that I now try not to repeat. This year I’m calmer and I do things when it makes sense to do them.

How are you approaching this second half of the season?
Máximo Quiles: Mainly, we’ll carry on working in the same way. I’m not going to change this approach because it’s working for us. We need to put the championship out of our minds and keep focusing on putting in good races and scoring points, because there are still plenty of races to go.
Have you had any advice from your current Moto2 teammates, David Alonso and Dani Holgado?
Máximo Quiles: I’ve said a few things to them in joking, but they haven’t said anything to me. I tell them, ‘Don’t you want to help me or what?’ But it’s all in good humor. For now, I want to stay focused on Moto3 and I’ll ask them for advice later on.
