Red Bull KTM Factory Racing announced this morning that Eli Tomac will miss round two of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Hangtown after suffering a crash at round one last weekend at the Fox Raceway National. Tomac is still recovering from a neck injury after crashing with Garrett Marchbanks on the opening lap of the first 450 moto.

“Scans this week confirmed a hyperextended ligament and partially torn muscle, requiring the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider to take time out from racing,” the team said. “Heal up, ET3 – we look forward to having you back at the races!”

Unfortunately Tomac has crashed out or missed four of the last five races in the SuperMotocross World Championship – Cleveland practice crash in the whoops, missed Philadelphia, Salt Lake City heat race crash, now Fox Raceway. After not scoring points in either moto he sits 41st in 450MX points, but is still fifth in the combined SMX points standings.
