WorldSBK Race Two
At the beginning of the final 20-lap WorldSBK race of the Portuguese weekend, Nicolo Bulega (Aruba. It Racing – Ducati) took the lead from pole once again, and was chased hard in the first five laps, until a combination of passing manoeuvres from those behind behind and his own sub-1’40 pace moved him 0.8 seconds and then just over a second ahead of Iker Lecuona (Aruba. It Racing – Ducati) by lap seven.
He would run out the winner by almost two seconds from Lecuona, giving Nicolo a perfect 2026 winning streak of six wins from six, including all three races at Portimao.

Miguel Oliveira (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) was third – his third podium of his home weekend, although Alex Lowes (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) threatened him for much of the race, and had a try to get close enough to pass into the final corner.
Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team Ducati) would finish fifth for the third time this weekend, meaning that all three races has the same top five riders – Bulega, Lecuona, Oliveira, Alex Lowes and Sam Lowes.
Lorenzo Baldassarri (Team Goeleven Ducati) had a good ride to sixth, in a race with a whopping seven crashers or non-finishers.
Danilo Petrucci (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) was seventh, Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) eighth, Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha) ninth and Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) tenth.
Alvaro Bautista (Barni Spark Racing Team) and his team-mate Yari Montella each fell, and eventually no scored, as did Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki WorldSBK Team) – the latter in the very last corner of the last lap. Jonathan Rea (Honda HRC) scored 12th place finish.
In the championship points, after six races across two rounds, Bulega leads with 124, Lecuona has 68, Bassani 60, Oliveira 56 and Alex Lowes 48.

WorldSSP Race Two
After an amazing first ever WorldSSP win for ZXMOTO on Saturday, Valentin Debise repeated the trick on Sunday at Portimao, after 17 largely front-running laps on the 820RR, despite lots of pressure from behind from three Yamaha battlers and one Ducati rider.

Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing Verdnatura Ducati) used a lot of pace and determination on the final lap to get into what was a relatively clear second place, albeit 0.7 seconds from the Debise race win.
After a final lap squabble between Albert Arenas (AS Racing Yamaha), Lucas Mahias (GMT94-YAMAHA) and Roberto Garcia (GMT94-YAMAHA), that proved to be the final finishing order for the last riders inside top five, after what was another truly combative and entertaining WorldSSP race.
The second group on track was finally headed up by the Ducati of Philipp Öttl GER (Feel Racing WorldSSP Team), in sixth place. He led home Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) in seventh, Can Öncü (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) in eighth, Corentin Perolari (Honda Racing) in ninth place and Alessandro Zaccone (Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team) who completed the top ten.
In the championship, after another historic day for Chinese Motorsport, Debise moved up to third place overall, with Masia on 71 points, Arenas on 65 and Debise with 50.

WorldSBK Superpole Race
Nicolo Bulega (Aruba. It Racing – Ducati) started his Sunday at Portimao in ideal fashion, winning the ten lap race for his second victory of the Portimao weekend – with one more race still to go this afternoon.
Second was Iker Lecuona (Aruba. It Racing – Ducati), who overtook local hero Miguel Oliveira (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) for third place on the grid.

Close behind, and fourth again like in the Saturday race, was Alex Lowes on the BbKRT bimota. Those four riders were in a loose lead grouping, with Alex almost two seconds up on his brother Sam Lowes, who led home another loose grouping, ranged out from fifth to tenth.
Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team) stayed on to take sixth place, with Xavi Vierge (Pata Maxus Yamaha) seventh, Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) eighth, Alvaro Bautista (Barni Spark Racing Team) ninth and Lorenzo Baldassarri (Team Goeleven Ducati) tenth. WorldSBK Race One
Nicolo Bulega (Aruba. It Racing – Ducati) winning the first 20-lap race at Portimao, and by a clear 2.5 seconds, was no surprise.
Iker Lecuona (Aruba. It Racing – Ducati) finishing second was a first podium for him in Ducati colors.
But a third place at Portimao for multiple MotoGP race winner and WorldSBK ‘rookie’ Miguel Oliveira (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) felt like a case of over-performance this early in his first BMW year.

The Portimao crowd figures have been swollen by the presence of Oliveira and the warm spring sunshine, but the party really got started after he secured a strong and fully-deserved third place in only his fourth WorldSBK race.
In a strangely spaced-out first race of the WorldSBK weekend, with three clear leading riders after Yari Montella (Barni Spark Ducati) crashed out, Alex Lowes (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) ended up ahead of his brother Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team Ducati), as they finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
A three rider fight for sixth saw eventual ‘winner’ of this tussle Xavi Vierge (Pata Maxus Yamaha) lead the group, then drop back seemingly well defeated, only to rally at the end and regain strong sixth position.
A resurgent Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki WorldSBK Team) even got the better of the second official bimota machine of Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) in the final laps, with Gerloff eventually seventh and Bassani eighth.
Right at the end Alvaro Bautista (Barni Spark Racing Team) got to within 0.2 seconds of Bassani, securing ninth position.
Danilo Petrucci (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) was tenth, beating Lorenzo Baldassarri (Team Goeleven Ducati) by 0.5 seconds.
Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) ended his first race day in Portugal 13th.
Two more races on Sunday – the ten lap sprint and a final 20-lap Race Two.

WorldSSP Race One
An important slice of WorldSSP history was made in the opening race of the Portimao weekend, as Valentin Debise (ZXMOTO Factory Evan Bros Racing) secured the first ever win for a Chinese manufacturer.
After a slightly delayed start to the race, pole man Can Öncü (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) hit the front and led for one lap, but fell on lap two, ending up 25th in the final race rankings.

Debise asserted himself out front and ended up winning by a whopping 3.685 seconds.
A tough fight behind the runaway Debise saw Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing Verdnatura) take second in a final corner sprint out of the last long right hander. Lucas Mahias (GMT94-YAMAHA) had been second for some time and was just 0.081behind Masia, and in a podium position.
Three other riders finished in the same group as the Spanish and French riders, with Roberto Garcia (GMT94-YAMAHA) fourth, Albert Arenas (AS Racing Yamaha) fifth and a rapidly closing-in Philipp Öttl GER (Feel Racing WorldSSP Team Ducati) sixth.
All were within 4.7 seconds of the otherwise runaway winner Debise.
Corentin Perolari (Honda Racing WorldSSP) was a lonely seventh at the end – and 12 seconds back from the win – with Alessandro Zaccone (Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team) three seconds behind and eighth. A sprint to the line was won by the other ZXMOTO machine, ridden by Federico Caricasulo, who edged out the lead Kawasaki of Jeremy Alcoba for ninth place by just 0.004 seconds.
In the championship, after three races, Masia leads by two points from Arenas, with Öttl third.

Maria would end up 4.657 seconds clear at the flag after 12 laps, with Paola Ramos (Klint Racing Team) second and Beatriz Neila (Ampito Crescent Yamaha) third.
A great multi-rider fight for the first off-podium places saw French rider Lucie Boudesseul (GMT94 Yamaha) win a drag to the line for fourth place, from Sara Sanchez (Hadden Racing Team), Roberta Ponziani (Klint Racing Team), Yvonne Cerpa seventh, Pakita Ruiz (PR46+1 Racing Team) eighth and Natalia Rivera (Terra & Vita GRT Yamaha) ninth. To the delight of the strong local crowd Miguel Oliveira (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) was fourth, and also even faster than the previous best of Razgatlioglu last season.

Turkish rider Can Öncü (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) almost beat his own track best time to secure the Portimao Superpole trophy, and with it the best starting place for Saturday’s 17-lap race. He was fully 0.633 seconds ahead of second place rider Valentin Debise (ZXMOTO Factory Evan Bros Racing), in what was an otherwise close – and dramatic – WorldSSP Superpole session.

A red flag was thrown after Josh Whatley (Orelac Racing Verdnatura) had a tech problem that put oil on the track entering the fast downhill T1, requiring a 30-minute clean up before the session could get underway to a conclusion.
At the end, Lucas Mahias (GMT94-YAMAHA) was third quickest, instant new WorldSSP star rider Albert Arenas (AS Racing Yamaha) was fourth, Philipp Öttl GER (Feel Racing WorldSSP Team Ducati) was fifth and Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing Verdnatura) sixth.
Corentin Perolari (Honda Racing WorldSSP) was seventh and Roberto Garcia (GMT94-YAMAHA) eighth.
Federico Caricasulo (ZXMOTO Factory Evan Bros Racing) was fast enough for ninth and the tenth place on the Race One grid was secured by Alessandro Zaccone (Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team). Tom Booth-Amos (Triumph Factory Racing) was the top Triumph rider, in 11th place, with his team-mate Oli Bayliss 18th.
