Phoenix Racing Honda announced the final addition to their 2026 GNCC program with the signing of Angus “Gus” Riordan. After a longstanding relationship with the KTM brand, Riordan switches to red and is set to compete for the team in the XC2 division.

“The past three years have given me all the lessons I need for a title run in 2026,” said Riordan. “Joining Phoenix Racing felt like the perfect move as I step into a program that is fully committed to going after the XC2 championship with me. My initial testing on the Honda CRF250R has been incredibly positive, and I think our combined motivation is going to be obvious when we line up for round one.”

Riordan finished third overall in the 2025 XC2 championship, backing up his second-place finishes in both 2024 and 2023. With 28 podiums over the past four seasons, including six wins in the last three, the Australian standout has built a reputation on speed and consistency. He now joins Phoenix Racing Honda, poised to deliver the organization its first professional GNCC championship.
“We’ve steadily built this GNCC program since entering the series in 2019, refining our structure, improving the bikes, enhancing our race-day execution, and targeting key opportunities to strengthen our effort,” said team owner David Eller. “Signing Gus Riordan isn’t just an exciting moment; it’s a milestone that reflects the ambition and preparation we’ve invested to help put Honda back on top. It’s a pleasure to welcome him to Phoenix Racing, and based on what I’ve already seen, we made the right decision.”

Riordan moved full-time from Australia to the United States at just 14 years old and later turned pro in 2020. He initially competed on the West Coast in WORCS, before transitioning full-time to GNCC for the 2022 season. Riordan already has four full XC2 seasons under his belt and will begin the 2026 season at just 20 years old.
