Repsol Honda’s Toni Bou won all four “races” at the two-day FIM TrialGP final in Great Britain, September 6-7. Bou swept both races, both days, to finish out the championship with a flourish.

The Spaniard officially clinched the title, his 19th and 38th career World title, after Saturday’s first race, topping the podium alongside teammate Gabriel Marcelli and GasGas Factory Team rider Jaime Busto.
Bou won race two, but it was a close one with Marcelli, as they tied on points. Bou, however, won out on the tie-breaker. Bust was again third.
“Today’s race went very well, especially on the first lap, where I only conceded three penalty points,” Bou said Saturday. “The goal was to win the title, and we did just that.”

Marcelli said, “At the end of the second race, I was tied with Toni but ultimately finished second on time, although I’m happy with the feeling I had on the bike. I want to congratulate Toni, not only for today’s victory but also for this latest title.”
With the championship pressure off, Bou won both races on Sunday but could never relax. Marcelli pushed Bou in race one, while Busto did the same in race two.
“We had a perfect weekend,” Bou said on Sunday. “Yesterday we clinched the title, and today we won both races plus the Power Section, so there’s no better way to end the season. We’ve achieved everything we could, and I don’t think we could ask for more.”
Bou finished out the season nearly 100 points up on his near rival Busto, 556-459. Marcelli took third in the championship with 428 points, followed by Beta’s Matteo Grattarola (350 points) and Sherco’s Jack Peace (296). CN
