CFMOTO USA clears up rumors regarding its RideSync app subscription.
The following is a statement from CFMOTO USA…
As you may have heard, certain corners of the Internet have been incited with news that CFMOTO USA may begin charging for their vehicle-app service. And we get why people are worked up—that would mean existing customers would be getting nickel-and-dimed for their ride analytics, vehicle status monitoring, system scans and more.
That’s why we’re glad we can reply that this allegation is FALSE. CFMOTO USA’s app, CFMOTO RideSync is free to CFMOTO USA owners and CFMOTO USA does not—and has never had—any plans to charge for a subscription, now or in the future.
This is not a backpedal or change in policy due to recent press; since the app’s launch, CFMOTO USA has always believed in a free and accessible app as a better way for customers to get most out of their vehicles—just another example of how riders can Experience More with CFMOTO.
The backstory:
- News of the alleged subscription requirement was first published on a popular U.S. motorcycle YouTube channel and then spread through social media comments.
- The YouTube channel had received the misinformation from Portugal and was unaware of the difference between CFMOTO USA and CFMOTO Global apps. They have since corrected their report.
The facts:
- CFMOTO USA’s RideSync® and CFMOTO Global’s Ride App are distinct apps, and are managed independently, including development, data security, and subscription practices.
- CFMOTO USA’s RideSync® app is only available in the United States.
- CFMOTO USA does not and will not charge a subscription for RideSync®. It is free to download and use.
- CFMOTO Global’s Ride App serves Europe and other parts of the world.
- A subscription may be charged in those regions.
- CFMOTO’s global site notes that the subscription policy does not apply to the United States.
So, long story short: CFMOTO USA’s RideSync app is, has, and will be free to CFMOTO USA vehicle owners, despite what you may hear on the Internet – giving CFMOTO USA riders just another way to Experience More.
