The 11th round of the 13-race J Day Off-Road/East Grand Regional AMA Championship wrapped up with the NU-Look Asphalt Richardson’s Farm race in Burrillville, Rhode Island, September 27-28. The course delivered a wild mix of bar-deep mudholes and a dry, fast cornfield, thanks to heavy rain the week prior. Despite a few mishaps, Thorn Devlin came out on top in the Pro AA class, shaking up the points standings.

In moto one, Justin Cokinos (Plaistow Powersports) grabbed the Fox Racing holeshot and led through the sandy cornfield. He held the lead for one lap until Cooper Jones (KTM) and Brandon Gregoire (Yamaha) moved into the top two spots. Jones stayed out front to take the win, while Gregoire dropped back after dislocating his knee midrace.
Devlin started moto one in sixth but crashed early in the cornfield, dropping to last place. He fought back to sixth by the end of lap one and ultimately finished second. Jiggs Fustini (KTM) climbed from fifth to third, making moves past Cokinos (fifth) and Beta’s Brayden Nolette (fourth).
In moto two, Gregoire bounced back strong, leading the first two laps. Devlin turned up the pace, passing Gregoire to take the win. Gregoire held second, while Fustini and Cokinos battled for third. Fustini eventually pulled away with a 27-second gap. Nolette started seventh and worked up to fifth, overtaking Jake Abbott (Yamaha) and Taylor Beckwith (Yamaha).
On the overall podium, Devlin claimed the top step, followed by Fustini and series points leader Cokinos.

Two rounds are remaining, and the points are close. Cokinos currently sits in first with 236 points, five points ahead of Gregoire with 231 points, and Nolette in third with 208 points.

J Day Off-Road’s top amateur of the day was, once again, Matt Webb (Yamaha), taking first in A 250 and 11th overall. Joshua Kanakry (KTM) took the A 200-class win, finishing 28th overall, while A Open winner Patrick Gougeon (GasGas) finished 16th overall.

Addison Harris (KTM) led every lap in both motos to secure the Women’s Pro overall. Kayla O’Neill (Yamaha) kept her in sight throughout and finished second on the day, extending her lead in the standings to 44 points. Destiny Artegian (Kawasaki) rounded out the podium in third.CN
