More team news for those keeping track of this year’s Motocross of Nations which takes place in October at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Team France recently announced their rider lineup as they aim to win the prestigious Chamberlain Trophy after finishing fifth in last year’s event.

For the 78th edition of the MXON, Team France named Romain Febvre as their MXGP rider, Mathis Valin for MX2, and Maxime Renaux for the Open Class. These three riders have a strong chance at being front runners as Febvre currently leads the MXGP points standings in the FIM Motocross World Championship.

Febvre and Renaux were part of the most-recent winning French team back in 2023 when they sealed the gold medals at their home track in Ernée, France alongside former MX2 champion Tom Vialle. This marked France’s sixth win in nine years and their first on home soil in five years, with a record-breaking attendance of fans. The team won the event with a total of 14 points, highlighted by their consistency and Renaux’s victory in the Open Class.

It is worth noting that Tom Vialle will not race this year’s event despite being a regular in the Pro Motocross Championship and a usual pick for the French roster – also part of the winning team in 2023. Strong rumors – originally reported by Vital MX’s Lewis Phillis – tie Vialle to a new deal back in the GP’s with a different manufacturer than his current KTM. Him not racing the MXON seems to give some more validity to these rumors.
