Josh Waters (McMartin Racing Ducati) and Mike Jones (Yamaha Racing Team) shared victories at round five of the 2025 mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul (ASBK) at Queensland Raceway on August 10, with Waters taking the overall win by one point.

In the first SW-Motech Superbike race, Jones (Yamaha Racing Team) showcased his Queensland Raceway mastery. Despite running wide on lap five and dropping to third, he clawed back with a fastest lap of 1:07.646, passing Waters on lap 12 to take the victory.
Waters had led from pole, while Harrison Voight (McMartin Racing Ducati) briefly held second before retiring with electrical issues. Broc Pearson (DesmoSport Ducati) claimed third ahead of Glenn Allerton (Superbike Advocates Racing Ducati).
Race two saw Waters respond decisively, leading all the way to claim his eighth win of 2025 and 41st ASBK career victory. Jones slipped to fourth early but moved into second on lap three, just before a collision between Voight and Pearson ended both their races.
Jones closed to within four-tenths of a second, but Waters held firm for a one-second-margin win. Allerton took third after a close fight with Anthony West (Addicted to Track Yamaha).
Overall, Waters’ 46-point round haul moves him further into the series lead on 261 points. Jones is second with 207, and West holds third on 191.CN
