Aussie racer Brady Kurtz stepped up his pursuit of title rival Bartosz Zmarzlik by taking his second straight FIM Speedway Grand Prix victory at the FIM Speedway GP of Sweden on Saturday night, July 5.

Kurtz made a triumphant return to his former Bauhaus Elitserien home track, winning four of his five heats to reach the final as the top scorer. He then took victory ahead of Poland’s five-time Speedway GP World Champion Zmarzlik, who was second after passing Britain’s Dan Bewley going into lap two.
To complete a carbon copy of the Speedway GP of Poland, the previous round, Bewley claimed third place.
Zmarzlik is still at the top of the championship leaderboard, but his lead has shrunk a bit. It’s now just nine points over Kurtz. Another 23 points behind Kurtz is Fredrik Lindgren of Sweden, in third place.CN
