Herbertson Confirms Full TT 2025 Entry With the New HRCC Team

UPDATE APRIL 17, 2025

Dominic Herbertson has confirmed on Thursday, April 17, that he’ll compete in all Isle of Man TT Races this year as originally planned, having formed his own team, HRRC – Herbertson Road Racing Company.

Herbertson had been due to contest the 600cc and 1000cc races for WTF Racing until their shock, and sudden, withdrawal, two weeks ago. However, Alan Gardiner, team principal of WTF Racing, has since supplied Herbertson with the stock Honda Fireblade he was due to ride.

That means 31-year old Herbertson will now take his scheduled start position of number 13 for the RST x D3O Superbike, RL360/Opul Superstock and Milwaukee Senior races.

Having set a new personal best lap of 130.497mph at last year’s event, he’ll now be looking to build on that and add to the six top 10 positions already achieved across the 1000cc classes.

Speaking of the news, Dom said: “Obviously it came as a real shock when the [WTF Racing] team announced they were having to pull out this year, and a real shame for the whole team and crew, too. They’d put in a huge amount of effort already, and I was just gutted for all the guys and girls involved.

“Thankfully though, Alan [Gardner] has managed to pull all the strings for me to supply the big bike, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I would have loved to have come to the TT with the full team behind me, but I’m also excited to get back to my roots in running my own little set up, and really can’t wait to get going.

“I also need to pay a huge thanks to everyone that’s got behind me over the last couple of weeks. The support has been incredible and really overwhelming, and I’ll be doing my best to make sure we get the best results possible.”

In a further boost, Herbertson has secured a Ducati Panigale V2 to contest the two Monster Energy Supersport races. The Hexham rider has already taken three top 10 finishes in the Supersport division with a personal best lap of 125.951mph and will now be hoping to improve upon that further in 2025.

With a ride with Melbray Racing for the Metzeler and Entire Cover insurance Supertwin races already announced [view the press release below], Thursday’s news confirms Herbertson’s participation in all eight solo races at this year’s TT.

Isle of Man (April 7, 2025) – Melbray Racing will make its debut at this year’s Isle of Man TT Races having signed Dominic Herbertson for the two Metzeler/Entire Cover Supertwin races, riding a Paton S1R.

The 34-year-old has been almost ever-present in the Supertwin class since making his TT debut in 2014 and recent years have seen him become a permanent fixture in the top 10. Indeed, the Northumbrian’s first top 10 TT finish came in the 2018 Lightweight race when finished in 10th place and he now has six top 10 finishes in the class to his name.

The highlights undoubtedly came last year when, riding the Burrows Engineering/RK Racing Paton, he claimed third and fourth place finishes in the two races, the former being his maiden TT podium. He also set a new personal best lap in the class of 121.539mph which makes him the sixth fastest Supertwin rider of all time.

Herbertson commented, “I’m really looking forward to riding for Melbray Racing in the two Supertwin races at this year’s TT. They’re a small team, but a great bunch of people, and I’m hoping to have the same results or better in this class than I had at last year’s TT.”

Based in London, Melbray Racing made their Mountain Course debut at last year’s Manx Grand Prix with Herbertson and Glen English, Herbertson finishing in a fine seventh place in the Senior Classic race on the team’s beautifully prepared Dunnell Manx Norton.

English upstaged him though as he took an excellent second place on a K4 Honda in the concurrently run Classic Junior race.

Speaking about their TT debut, Melbray Racing’s Team Owner Simon Warren said: “We’re super excited to have our team coming to the TT this year and having such a great talent as Dominic Herbertson riding our bike makes it even more special.

“It’s been a steep learning curve, but one we have enjoyed, and to have a bike lining up on the grid for a TT race is a childhood dream come true.

“We have some wonderful sponsors joining us on this journey, so a massive thank you to Venhill Engineering, The Bike Shed London, Uggly and Co, The Shed at Laxey and Chasin’ the Racin’ podcast. Without them, this would not be possible”.
