Myers was handed victory when Schultz redlighted

In this week’s Throwback we dial back the clock 29 years to March of 1995 and that year’s NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida. In the final round of the Pro Stock Motorcycle Final, it was Dave Schultz on the Sunoco Suzuki facing John Myers on his Star Racing Suzuki. When the timing lights flashed on as the two crossed the finish line it was incredibly close with Schultz clocking 7.56 seconds at 171.29 mph and Myers turning a 7.58 sec./170.87mph. But even though Schultz was slightly faster it was Myers scoring his second Gatornationals victory in a row after Schultz fouled by leaving the line too soon.
