Morgantown, WV (October 21, 2024) – In honor of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, round 13 of the 2024 Progressive Grand National Cross Country Series presented by Specialized, an AMA National Championship, (GNCC Racing) will once again “GO PINK” for the Yamaha Racing Ironman GNCC. Taking place this weekend, October 25-27 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, the season finale has become more than just a race, as record-breaking numbers are expected to attend what has become the largest fall festival in Montgomery County.
Ironman’s “pink race” is to raise awareness and fund locally for breast cancer care and research, while bringing the GNCC Racing Community together for a cause that is bigger than racing. Last year the GNCC Racing Nation donated $10,000, and once again all proceeds will benefit the Montgomery Country Community Foundation (MCCF), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free mammogram examinations across the Crawfordsville and Montgomery County region.
GNCC Racing will relax number-plate background color codes for the race and encourages riders to run pink backgrounds, available via HBD MotoGrafx. To continue the fundraising efforts, a pink front number plate background will result in a $5 donation. A full set of front and side backgrounds will include a $10 donation. In addition, each other will include one free mini plate. Email sales@hbdmotografx.com or call (386) 308-2225 to order your backgrounds today and use code “Pink24” for special pricing. HBD MotoGrafx will also be providing exclusive GNCC Breast Cancer Awareness race stickers for a minimum $1 donation. Stickers will be available at rider registration throughout the weekend.
Yamaha Motor Corp. will continue to donate $50 for every Yamaha class win at Ironman and $50 for every National Championship earned by Yamaha riders. They will also be doing a beanie giveaway and an eBike giveaway, just signup at the Yamaha display starting at 1pm Friday until 3pm on Sunday. Their hospitality tent will offer hot chocolate, coffee, popcorn and Halloween candy. Yamaha riders can come by the booth on Friday from 2-4pm, Saturday 3:30-5pm and Sunday from 11am-1pm to get the Yamaha and bLU cRU logos pressed onto their jerseys for the event. Yamaha bLU cRU Ambassadors including, Johnny Gallagher, Ryan Villopoto and Damon Bradshaw will be in attendance throughout the course of the weekend in Indiana.
GNCC Racing will also have another fundraising opportunity for racers and fans to own a piece of Ironman Raceway as commemorative 2024 Ironman GNCC jars holding infamous Ironman Hill dirt will be collected and available for a donation of $5 or more per jar. These jars will be available at rider registration Friday through Sunday, and on the starting line during the afternoon pro races on Saturday and Sunday, quantities are limited.
Kicking off the events on Friday, October 25, will be the Davisson Brothers Band as they hit the stage in Indiana at 9:00 p.m. ET. The West Virginia native band consists of brothers, Chris and Donnie Davisson, alongside their nephew Gerrod Bee and life-long friend, Aaron Regester. The Davisson Brothers Band continues to be true to their roots, and their third album – Home Is Where the Heart Is – continues to resonate their truly unique embodiment of their home state.
On Saturday, October 26, country music artist and dirt bike enthusiast, Redferrin will take the stage at 9:00 p.m. ET to wrap up the 2024 GNCC Racing’s Monster Energy Concert series. Redferrin’s new adrenaline-pumping energy songs will make the evening a fun one for racers, families and fans alike. Redferrin had spent his first 24 years on a dirt bike, and now takes that thrill-seeking spirit and relentless drive with him wherever his goes.
Special activities throughout the weekend will include trick-or-treating, a Halloween costume contest and ePeeWee (Stacyc) racing. Trick-or-Treating will take place on Friday from 4-6 pm, and then again on Saturday from 6-8 pm, where candy will be handed out throughout the vendor/sponsor village area. Other special events taking place on Saturday will be the ePeeWee race at 6 pm near the finish line, and the Halloween costume contest, which will take place at 6:30 pm at Team Faith’s pit area (both events will have candy to be handed out as well).
This year’s Ironman GNCC will once again follow a modified race schedule, along with adjusted race times. One significant change, due to the high number of entries in the Bike Amateur Race, is that there will continue to be two separate Bike Amateur races on Sunday morning.
