In this week’s Throwback we turn back the clock 32 years to October of 1992 and the AMA/CCS Endurance Challenge season finale during the AMA/CCS Race of Champions weekend at Daytona International Speedway. The photo shows the start of the three-hour endurance race. Fastline/MCM Racing’s Tommy Lynch (No. 25) nailed the start and leads the pack into the first turn. On the outside of Lynch were three other top teams in the series, Team America (No. 9), defending series champs Dutchman Racing (No. 1) and Gold Hill Racing (No. 3). Dutchman, with riders Scott Zampach and John Choate went on to win the race. It marked the team’s first win of the season. Fastline/MCM that walked away with that year’s championship.
