2019 AMA Land Speed Grand Championship Takes Place August 24-29
Press Release | August 20, 2019
The Bonneville Salt Flats will be alive with the sound of motorcycle engines once again during the 2019 AMA Land Speed Grand Championship, Aug. 24-29.
This is a press release from American Motorcyclist Association…
Also known as the Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials, the six-day American Motorcyclist Association Grand Championship features hundreds of amateur land speed racers from across the nation and around the world vying for AMA and Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme land speed world records. The AMA is the sole U.S. affiliate of the FIM.
“All reports indicate that the salt is in good condition this year, and we’re expecting another spectacular AMA Land Speed Grand Championship for 2019,” AMA Track Racing Manager Ken Saillant said. “Competing at Bonneville is about going faster than anyone else has in each competition class, and we look forward to seeing who will etch their names in the record books this year.”
As with most AMA national championships, and in recognition of the range of participants in amateur competition, the event includes multiple classes to provide ample opportunity for racers to compete. Both displacement- and bike-configuration classes are featured, including high-powered, custom-built streamliners made for the sole purpose of topping 300 mph.
The event is being organized and promoted by Deliciate Promotions. The Bonneville Speedway typically consists of a 5-mile course and an 8- to 10-mile course, depending on conditions.
