Here’s something new: Ryan Villopoto will actually race tomorrow at the Monster Energy Cup, in his first race back since he retired in 2015. He says it’s in prep for the AUS-X Open coming up soon in Australia, but word is he’ll be racing select supercross rounds in 2019, too. PHOTOGRAPHY BY STEVE COXThere will be some confused fans with Villopoto racing on a Yamaha, being that this guy, Cooper Webb, was on a number-2 Yamaha until this weekend at the Monster Energy Cup. Webb is making his Red Bull KTM debut tomorrow, and will be one of two 2s on the track. Coming off of a poor performance at the Motocross of Nations a week ago, the Monster Energy Cup could represent an opportunity to swing momentum back in his direction as we head into off-season testing for the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross Series.
