In this week’s Throwback we go back 20 years ago to NASB’s Buell Lightning Series Finale at Daytona International Speedway. In this Henny Ray Abrams photo, Eric Bostrom (20) leads Shawn Higbee (3) and Tripp Nobles (87) into the first turn. The race came down to a last-lap draft battle between Bostrom and Nobles. Nobles showed his experience by locking into Bostrom’s draft coming towards the checkered flag and perfectly timing his pass to take the victory by a wheel length. Higbee, who finished a close third in this race, won the championship that year, having scored five wins in the eight-race series.
