Here’s the Scoop from REV’IT! on the 2017 KTM Adventure Rider Rally
The 2017 KTM Adventure Rider Rally was held in Crested Butte, Colorado for the second time in three years. With nearly 500 attendees including a massive staff of KTM event planners, celebrity riders, world-class racers and helpful technicians, it was a popular destination, to say the least. On top of that, nearly 30 vendors from the Adventure Motorcycling industry showcased their latest adventure-motorcycle gear and services.
We had a quick chat with REV’IT!’s Bryan Grimes inside their booth at the KTM Adventure Rider Rally to see why they made the trip, what kind of cool new stuff they have and what they think the KTM Adventure Rider Rally is all about.
What REV’IT! product is drawing the most interest from the attendees here at the KTM Rally?
Bryan Grimes: People come to the KTM Adventure Rider Rally to ride, first and foremost. And, since we don’t really think they come here to buy gear as much as other parts, we decided to bring some samples of our gear, but do more brand activation to add to the experience for the attendees. We partnered with Third Bowl Ice Cream here to make REV’IT! Chip and KTM Carrot Cake Ice Cream (given away for free) as well as REV’IT! and KTM-themed donuts.
We also brought the REV’IT! #95 bike and have been filming a ton of content with it. The #95 bike is a bike that draws a lot of attention in the custom-motorcycle blog world because it looks crazy and the concept is pretty wild. But a lot of people claim it’s not a real adventure bike—that it’s just a show bike. So, we came out here to prove them otherwise and capture that with a bunch of content of it being beat on like a real bike. It’s an exciting bike to look at, but it’s even more exciting to hear it, ride it and see it in action.
So, our effort is more experiential than product driven this year, for sure.
Why should riders consider attending the KTM Adventure Rider Rally?
Bryan Grimes: If you love riding I think it’s the place to come. It’s less of a trade show and more of a riding event and that’s what we wanted to capture and experience here as a supporter.CN
