Murrieta, CA (May 6, 2017) – On the cusp of a notable season from the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team in the AMA Supercross 250SX East and West Championships, KTM Motorsports is pleased to announce its extended partnership with Troy Lee Designs, a leading provider of helmets, apparel and premium protection for offroad motorcycling, to continue as the company’s 250 factory racing team through the 2020 race season.
Additionally, this extended partnership includes the continuation of the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull KTM Amateur Racing Team, as well as Troy Lee Designs as the official gear sponsor of the KTM Jr. Supercross Challenge.

The 2017 AMA Supercross Championship concludes this Saturday, May 6, in Las Vegas where Troy Lee Designs Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team’s Jordon Smith will look to capture his first-career 250SX East Championship aboard the KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION. Smith enters the finale with a one-point advantage over the 2nd place riders. Team rider Shane McElrath sits in the 2nd place position in the 250SX West Championship standings with three victories behind him, while teammate Mitchell Oldenburg looks to end the season on a strong note following a two-race podium streak. Alex Martin will miss Round 17 due to an injury sustained mid-season.
The KTM Jr. Supercross Challenge will also conclude its 10-round exhibition series at the season finale. Following the completion of the final race, the winner from each of the 10 rounds will go on to compete in the Monster Energy Cup for a chance to win a KTM 50 SX from the top step of the podium.
