Kansas City, MO (February 20, 2017) – With Phil Nicoletti out of the AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series and recuperating from leg surgery, we turn our attention to the AMA AMSOIL Arenacross Series and the Team Babbitt’s Monster Energy Team. They had a stable full of Kawasaki’s ready to take on the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO and they didn’t disappoint the fans.
Once again leading the way was Gavin Faith. He started the evening by posting the fastest qualifying time and then backed it up by winning his heat race. Faith continued to dominate by taking 1st in Main #1. In Main #2 he slipped back to 3rd place and earning him a 2nd overall for the evening. He currently sits in 2nd place overall in the Championship point’s standings, but is just 17 points out of the top spot. Joining him in the top five was teammate Gared Steinke and rounding out the top 10 were Travis Sewell in 8th and Jacob Williamson in 9th.
In the Arenacross Lites Class it was Ryan Breece who would set the pace with the fastest qualifying time of the evening. He would also win his heat race, but when the checkers fell on the on the main event, he would have to settle for 2nd place overall. It was still a podium finish which is great for the young rider from Idaho.
