2017 Husqvarna TX 300: FIRST RIDE
| June 8, 2016
Cycle News just finished spending the day aboard the completely new 2017 Husqavara TX 300 two-stroke off-road/cross-country bike. We also had the chance to throw a leg over the rest of the 2017 Husqvarna motocross and cross-country lineup at Cahuilla Motocross Park. After just a day experiencing the new machines we are excited by their performance, and super happy that there are more all-new two-strokes to choose from. Like the KTM’s they closely resemble, the 2017 Husky’s are lighter, faster and better handling than their predecessors. The 2017 Husqvarna’s use the WP AER 48 air fork, which performs nicely, and the four-stroke models feature traction control, which we found works pretty good, as well! Of all of Husky’s new models, the big-bike two-strokes are the most changed.
Over the next few weeks, we plan to focus first on the revamped TX 300 two-stroke (cross country model) and will give you a more comprehensive ride-report in an upcoming issue of Cycle News magazine. We will also have quick first-riding impressions of the other 2017 models that make up Husqvarna’s 2017 lineup shortly.
Like the all-new KTM models, Husqvarna is commitment to two-stroke development, which makes the dirt bike world very happy.
For Husqvarna, FX and TX stands for off-road cross-country closed-course, while FC and TC reference the motocross machines. The differences between the off-road cross-country Husqvarna’s and motorcrosss machines is quite minimal. Like KTM, Husky is not offering “green stricker” bikes “enduro” bikes this year; to cover those bases, however, Husky offers its dual sport models, which are essentially street-legal, special-test-ready enduro bikes.
To see a more complete break down of the 2017 Husqvarna motocross machines check out the Cycle News online first look. For an in-depth look at the FX and TX cross-country bikes, read the Cycle News online first look and/or the magazine version.
