Pickerington, OH (July 14, 2015) – Motorcyclists of all ages enjoyed a weekend of vintage racing, classic-bike shows, fun and informative seminars, North America’s largest motorcycle swap meet and much more during AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, July 10-12.

The annual event raised funds for the American Motorcyclist Association Motorcycle Hall of Fame, a 501(c)(3) organization, to support its mission to promote the heritage of motorcycling in America. This year, the event celebrated the 25th anniversary of the museum that houses the Hall of Fame. Hall of Famer and legendary dirt tracker and road racer David Aldana was the grand marshal.
AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman thanked the AMA staff, volunteers and partners who organized AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days.
“AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days is a great event all around, and this year certainly was one of the best I’ve ever attended,” Dingman said. “I’ve never seen more smiling faces, heard more positive comments or witnessed more engaged participants at this event than what I saw this year. I thank everyone for helping us in our mission to promote and preserve motorcycling’s heritage through the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.”
Dingman also thanked those companies that provided financial support to the event.
“Moto Armory, Federal Motorcycle Transport, Nationwide Insurance, MAD Maps, the American International Motorcycle Expo, Hagerty Insurance, KTM, BMW — all have our gratitude for stepping up to support the Hall of Fame this year,” Dingman said.
In addition, many AMA clubs and promoters provided operational assistance to AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days.
“This event would not be possible without the support of numerous friends and partners,” said AMA Chief Operations Officer Jeff Massey. “From dedicated AMA members who pitched in throughout the weekend to AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Tom White who volunteered his time to announce the motocross races, this was a true team effort.”
Massey also acknowledged WERA for organizing the road racing activities; Amanda Klein for planning and scoring the vintage trials event; Mandi Mastin and her family for running the vintage hare scrambles; Baja MX, Log Road MX, Briarcliff Motocross, the Christian M/C and Dayton M/C for their help with the motocross program; Ashland County Fairgrounds for hosting the vintage dirt track races; as well as Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and its staff for supporting all activities on the property.
In addition, Massey thanked the BMW and KTM demo truck teams, as well as Schuberth Helmets and Thunder Roads Ohio for their support. The classic club this year was the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club, with Louisville Vintage Motorworks, the Cycle Conservation Club of Michigan, the Classic Wing Club, Warrior Souls M/C and the Cincinnati Classic British Motorcycle Owners also in attendance.
“I also have to say that the seminar program this year was one of the best in recent memory,” Massey said. “I would like to thank all of our speakers for lending their expertise and insight to attendees of this event.”
Other partners included the American Motor Drome Wall of Death, Ryan Young Products, ABATE of Ohio and Motorcycle Ohio — all of which supported entertainment and participatory activities at the event. SLAM Services created the swap meet grid.
