Kawasaki On Pole For Bol d’Or

Cycle News Staff | April 19, 2013

The SRC Kawasaki of Greg Leblanc, Loris Baz and Jeremy Guarnoni have put the ZX-10R on pole position for tomorrow’s start of the Bol d’Or at the Magny Cours circuit in France.

The Kawasaki team lapped at a best of 1:39.200 (and an average of 1:39.610) to best the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (SERT) of Vincent Philippe, Anthony Delhalle and Julien Da Costa in advance of tomorrow’s start to the 24-hour race.

Although Philippe also broke the 1:40 barrier on the factory Suzuki,  it wasn’t fast enough to get the team to pole. Still, he will be starting second on the grid tomorrow with teammates Delhalle and Da Costa.

Yamaha France GMT 94 Michelin Yamalube had a solid day, taking third on the grid and led by David Checa, who improved his time by half a second this morning.

Fourth on the grid will go to BMW Motorrad France Team Thevent’s Karl Muggeridge, Sebastien Gimbert and Sylvain Barrier.

Jason Pridmore’s Penz13.com team ended up qualifying 17th.
