Landes Back To Springfield

The following information has been released by the Team Motorcyclist’s Post GNC flat track team:

Team Motorcyclist’s Post is proud to announce that 2003 Springfield TT Grand National winner Brett Landes will be competing in round three of the AMA Ford Quality Checked Grand National Dirt Track Series, the Springfield TT at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, on May 28. Landes, who resides in Los Gatos, California, will ride a specially prepared, Garry Baehler-tuned Honda CRF450R sponsored by longtime dirt track supporter and team sponsor Kirby Kyle.

“As most people within the sport know, our rider Logan Myers injured his leg in a training accident in mid-April,” Motorcyclist’s Post team manager Leo Castell said. “Due to the nature of Logan’s injury, we had decided not to put anyone else on the bikes for the few weeks we expect Logan to be out. However, Brett called a week or so ago and presented this opportunity to Garry and the Team, so we thought it would be great for the sport to see Brett return to the Springfield TT.

“We want to thank Brett for the confidence he has expressed in Garry as well as the team to put a good bike under him for this race,” Castell added. “We also want to thank Kirby Kyle for stepping in with some additional help on such short notice. As most folks within the dirt track community are aware, our team has seen its share of adversity. But we want everyone to know that we’re continuing to move forward with our program, and that we¹re here to stay.”

Myers said that while he is disappointed that he won’t be able to race for a few more weeks, his leg is healing fast, and he will be ready to go as soon as it is 100 percent.

“I want to thank the Team for being so supportive through this, and I want everyone to know that I’ll be there at Springfield to help Brett any way I can” Myers said. “Brett is a great veteran rider and should do well working with Garry.”
