Antunez OK in Oklahoma

Buddy Antunez came away with a couple of wins at the January 12-13 rounds of the National Arenacross Series at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Antunez, on the Axo/Bills Pipes/RG3 Suzuki, won both 125cc main events, while Antunez’ teammate Jeff Gibson and Tuf Racing/Thor/Honda’s Rusty Holland split the 250cc main event wins.

On Friday night, Antunez scored the 125cc main win over Gibson, Jeff Willoh (Hon), Holland and Tommy Hofmaster (Yam), while Gibson came back to win the 250cc main over Antunez, Willoh, Pedro Gonzalez (Kaw) and Josh Demuth (Kaw). Antunez came back to win Saturday night’s 125cc main over Willoh, Hofmaster, Chad Johnson (Hon) and Demuth. Holland scored his first ever Arenacross win after topping the 250cc main over Travis Hodges (Hon), Gibson, Antunez and Willoh.

Antunez, with 15 wins now under his belt, enjoys a commanding points lead over Willoh, 448-357. Third is Gibson with 308.
