SuzukiScoop.com’s Elena Myers won a thrilling Supersport final this morning at Daytona International Speedway, the 19-year-old Californian beating National Guard Suzuki’s Corey Alexander by .239 of a second and showing that you can lead out of the chicane on the final lap at Daytona and still win.

Matt Weidman became the second first-time Grand National winner of the Daytona doubleheader tonight, the New Yorker sitting in the right place at the right time to score a hugely popular victory at the Daytona Short Track to join last night’s victor Johnny Lewis as debut winners.

When Josh Hayes says he can do 1:37s in a Superbike final at Daytona International Speedway, we should believe him. Hayes did just that today, the defending AMA Superbike Champion putting his head down and doing something that it’s not easy to do at Daytona.

Wyman, who had qualified on pole and was the fastest XR1200 rider all weekend, put himself in the best position possible and simply drafted past the both of them to score the victory – his second in a row at Daytona.
